Through their trusted guidance and help, we have been able to provide important long term benefits, such as supplemental executive retirement programs, BOLI, and rabbi trusts, to many members of senior management and the board encouraging stability at those critical levels of the company . More importantly, the relationship we have developed with Corrigan and Company has resulted in a consultative approach of constant dialogue/advice and exploration of ideas that continue to improve our benefit programs. Their expertise is highly respected by us and their timeliness in execution is exceptional. Their relationship and advice have been extremely valuable in maintaining senior management stability, enabling us to spend more time on achieving the strategic goals of our company.
— Walt Kaczmarek, CEO, Heritage Bank of Commerce
Having started a De Novo bank in 2006 meant securing relationships with key vendors critical to the success of the organization. One of our very first calls was to Corrigan and Company whom we had worked with over the preceding 20 years at our previous institution. We began by establishing Key Man Life Insurance on the CEO. Shortly after, we secured Bank Owned Life Insurance for key executives and managers throughout the organization, followed by consultation in establishing a supplemental executive retirement plan. Since the beginning, we have called upon Corrigan and Company to provide guidance in many areas relative to critical employee retention. There are but a few vendors that we see as absolute partners essential to the success of the bank, and Corrigan is one. Their responsiveness to management and board issues and questions, thoroughness when placing new products, and general industry expertise allows management to focus on growing the institution strategically. We are positive that our ability to retain key members could not have been accomplished without our partnership with Corrigan and Company.

Working closely with Michael, over a seven year period, I came to know him, his staff and their company service culture quite well. As the Human Resources Executive of an $8 billion - 11 community bank enterprise, we had an extensive portfolio of BOLI (bank owned life insurance) and a complicated Executive Benefits Program. In a 3 year period we acquired 11 community banks with all of the attendant benefit challenges. With Corrigan & Company, we were able to integrate the acquired executives and in some cases, bank directors into our program quickly and efficiently.

Michael and his team worked in lock step with our company to develop, implement and maintain this program to the benefit of the company and the goal of rewarding performance of it’s executives through customized retirement benefit plans. Michael met personally with participants, hosted numerous group meetings and tirelessly met the needs of a demanding company and executive. Additionally, he was sensitive to the politics within the company and credible enough to interface with the CEO, CFO, Human Resources, CPA’s and our Board of Directors.

The service culture of our bank was widely known to be the best among peers and competitors. To this end, Michael and his staff were professional, thorough, knowledgeable and available to cater to us at all times – matching our dedication to the highest standards of service and ethics.

For me, a skeptic by nature, I was amazed at the grace with which criticism was accepted, demands met and the continuity we received over such a long period of time. Where other vendors offering similar services would have handed us off to their third party staffers, we received Michael’s personal attention and that of his most senior staff that provided a seamless interface for us with the actuarial accountants. A service culture is created from the inside out, the top down, and I can with all conviction say that Corrigan & Company, to a person understands what that means.
